The New England Patriots flexed some muscle over the past three weeks as they defeated both the always dangerous Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys.  Those teams were missing a big offensive weapon as Cleveland came to Gillette without the all time leader is receptions and receiving TD in Brandon Marshall, the Raiders were without their offensive kick starter in Matt Forte and the Cowboys were without powerhouse DeMarco Polo Murray. The Pats took full advantage of this and were able to come out with victories in the contests as the team moved to 6-0 with the team flying to the Windy City next week.

However one Patriot won’t be flying with the team as Tom Brady left the game in the 4th quarter with an sore knee. Sore enough to miss the game with the Bears.  It will mark the first time in his career that he has missed a Patriots game due to injury as the leagues oldest player has been an ironman. Brady was unavailable to the media this week but grumpy HC BB spoke on the matter kinda sorta…

“Look Tom is unavailable for next week but that doesn’t change anything around here. Whether it’s Blake or Jimmy stepping up they’ve both familiar with the operation and know what they’re  doing. We have full confidence that they’ll be able to do the job this week. Our job is to get that person ready to face a very good Chicago Bears team. They’re even more tough in their home building so we have a lot of work to do before the game. There’s really nothing they don’t do well. Run, pass, block, tackle. They have playmakers at every position and we need to be prepared for the toughest game of the year. We’re gonna need everyone to do their job, and do it really well this week if we wanna think about having any success in Chicago”.4444444444444444

Chicago will be the favourite, playing at home, and not having to worry about TB 12 leading the Pats down the field. Chicago is a desperate team and needs a win as they find themselves out of the current playoff picture at 2-4 and have lost 3 straight games. But the Bears are 2-1 at Solder field and are getting back superstar Odell Beckham Jr at the right time. For New England the big question is who will play Qb? Blake Bortles and Jimmy Garoppolo have never seen game action in the VMFL but this could show Pats fans a glimpse into life without #12 under center.
