Picks of the Week

NEW ENGLAND @ DALLAS- Covering the spread as a favorite on the road is not easy. You have to have a QB who can withstand the negative forces associated with an opponents building and that’s just what the Pats have in Tom Brady. The Dallas defense was impressive in Week 1 holding the Raiders to 19 points in what amounted to 5 quarters. The Cowboys struggled to throw the ball against the league’s lowest rated secondary. It all spells “cover” to me.

Jimmy’s Pick- NEW ENGLAND -6 ( 27-16 NE )

OAKLAND @ PHILADELPHIA- It has been a while since these two teams both won their openers. Oakland made enough plays last week and had God on their side at the very end. The Raiders will be without OG Brandon Scherff to further disable the league’s worst offensive line. Philly used a clutch 4th quarter from Cam Newton and let HB Adrian Peterson make the big plays for a change. This is made all the more difficult because neither have proven they can run the ball in many years. I’m going with my gut here.

Jimmy’s Pick- PHILADELPHIA -3.5 ( 21-17 PHI )

Season Record “Against The Spread” ~ 2-0
